The Divorce Process in Kentucky

Kentucky is a no-fault divorce state, meaning the only ground for divorce is that the marriage is "irretrievably broken." Before filing, at least one spouse must have been a resident of the Commonwealth for 180 days. The petitioner files a Complaint in Circuit Court, and the respondent has 20 days to file an Answer.
